Ice Cream in a Bag!

IMG_0229I saw this recipe on pop up in my Facebook news feed a couple of weeks ago and bookmarked it since it looked amazing. We tried it this week and I have to say it is even better than it looks! It take less than 10 minutes to make, and uses 5 ingredients including the ice and salt you use to freeze it. After trying it my husband mentioned that it was a very satisfying treat, it was fun to make and the ice cream is tasty making for an overall fun treat. There is no real conversion needed with this recipe, since you can use North American/British measures and it will turn out the same. Here is the link for the site I first saw the recipe on, and here is the link for the blog they got it from.

2 Tablespoon sugar
1 cup half & half (or light cream)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup coarse salt or table salt
gallon-sized/medium(large) Zipper Bag
pint-sized/small Zipper Bag

IMG_0223In a cup or bowl mix the cream, vanilla and sugar and give it a good stir.
IMG_0225Pour the cream mix into the small zipper bag.
IMG_0226Fill the larger zipper bag half way with ice and add your half a cup of salt to the ice.
IMG_0227Place the small bag in the larger bag and shake for 5 minutes, though I recommend wear gloves or wrapping the bag in a towel because it will get very cold as you shake.
IMG_0228After the 5 minutes pull the smaller bag out and give it a quick rinse under cold water to get rid of the salt, fold down the bag and pull out a spoon!
